This dish was a little weird for me. BUT Logan said his parents used to make it when he was a kid. So we tried it. We just used the Kroger brand, white cheddar mac n’ cheese (for 79 cents) and a bag of frozen green peas (fairly cheap also).
We didn’t add the butter as suggested, but we added the cheese pack and milk.
It was really an interesting combination. Surprisingly, I didn’t hate it.
We used it as a side item and ate on it for a couple of days. You could make it a full one dish meal by adding a chicken breast or some other protein. Or if you don’t have that…it could just be a meal in itself for two. It makes enough to fill up on.
